ok so this topic is about FF7 and the fact that it has so much hype and other games (and a movie) around it.well, i do agree that it is probably one of the best FF games created and of it's time (haven't beaten it :( ). i think that maybe it's the depth of the characters, they're easy to relate to, a good story behind them, with some humor thrown in.so if u think otherwhise or u think anothetr FF title deserved the praise, voice it here. bye all :dance:

final fantasy 7 really eraned it and thats all i have to say it cant go to anyother ff becuase final fantasy 7 now has a compilation

i think ur right.overall, FF7 earned it, and i'm glad it did, because besides vivi in FF9, i only like the characters from FF7. nanaki rules!!!! :dance:

Yeah, FF7 is good, and the movie's even better than the game IMO.

I really enjoyed playing FF7, however I really hate those midis playing during the whole game >_<.

I had the game for sometime and thought it was an amazingly great game. Only problem is...I lost the game after I moved from my old home. Never finished it but I still felt it was one of the greatest games the PS1 had to offer.

i'm glad to see a good amount of comments on my first topic!!!!i liked the movie, but i thinked it was centered WAYYYYYyy too much on Cloud, i mean i know he is the main character, but still!i mean the other characters from the game mostly showed up and boosted him into the sky!but all-in-all the movie rocked!keep commenting ppl!

Legend of Dragoon was different though. If I had to nominate for est RPG I would nominate Legend of Dragoon. Here's why:

1. Great story line.

2. Great characters

3. Great character development.

4. Dramatic scenes.(Lavits's death.)

5. Gameplay(You have to be very good with your timing.)

And if I missed something it's not on purpose. I also say Legend of Dragoon was probaly the best RPG because it was different then many others on the Playstation. It wasn't the same, either was Final Fantasy VIII, but everything on Legend of Dragoon was just new. Besides that, no RPG coming out for next gen systems will be able to beat it because let's face it, had Legend of Dragoon been on such a system it may just have been the perfect game. :p my opinion.

But this is an FF7 topic so I should stop my rambling and get back on topic. Just had to get that thought out.

Best RPG...Phantasy Star 4...in my opinion of course...

never played four, but the rest were good....back on the note of FF7....i like that the best FF is still to come(i.e.FF12,FF13,FF versus 13).

I love the gameplay of ff12, it's so inovating...i don't see how ff13 can be better than that...

i was kinda dissapointed by FF12's battle system, but i'm a traditional RPGer i guess.

Yeah i to prefer the old rpg system too...but sometimes when things are getting to repetitive there's no harm on trying something diferent, and they did a good job in my opinion...it isn't the same but still it's interesting playing them...it's like sonic heroes or resident evil 4...they're both games that were pretty diferent from the old games play system but they were still interesting...well sonic heroes wasn't that great, but still...

in my opinion, i loved FFX-2's variation of ATB...and FF13 looks to have a fast, turned-based battle sytem, maybe even ATB!

Let's just wait and see...i'm sure it will be a great game like all the other previous series...and by the way have you beaten ff7 already?...if not you can ask me for help...

i think FF7 is one of the best game i ever played it hard to beat the first time and it was the changing thing in the FF seise that made it what it is if u ask me they need to make a new 1 that like to old one but make the gaphe diffent

Well if that's what you want know here is some hot info...they are doing a remake for ps3 of final fantasy 7...i saw the trailer on gamespot, so if you want to check it out you know where to look...and believe me i almost fainted of so exitemant...the grafics are f****** awsome...

E3 2004 showed PS3 trailers (including FF7) those were all fakes they aint gonna remake it you guys are saying yes there saying no...killzone 2 etc including ff7 remake has a very low chance of coming to be made
