cait sith is pretty worthless, but his HP is pretty good lol(bcause of his body structure i guess, not trying to be mean).

my main party was cloud, tifa and vincent or barret,(though i used barret to beat the game because i liked his level 4 limit break better than vincents. i like to keep control of my characters thank you very much.) , personally i hated red xiii because i found his attacks weak and his limit breaks weren't that great, yuffie was also pretty bad, i hated her personality and the fact she was incredibly weak with only a decent speed to compensate (i found tifa to be much better overall, better speed and strength and stronger magic.)

for the record this is how a flamewar could start. this is a forum where people with different opinions gather and to suggest that one is wrong or to try to limit another person from saying what they feel isn't very good and most people won't take too kindly to that. (so if this gets out of hand i'll just close the topic and punish according to the rules.)

I think Vincent has the best limit breaks honestly. And his guns, awesome. I liked Cid(Not that you said anything about him, just felt the need to say I liked his personality XD) alot too. And Red XIII I didn't think was too bad, though he was weak. And Yuffie was also weak, those are probably some characters no one bothered to use, except my brother beat the game with Cloud, Red XIII, and Vincent.

Well, I beat the game with Cloud, Tifa and Vincent, howver i didn't like him beacuse he had in my party healing materias and when he was using his limit breaks I couldn't control him, so I think I would use Barret if I would play it again.

Yuffie hands down. Weak in strengh and all she wants is my materia.

red xiii is my favorite cuz i loaded him with magic.ilove magic.i loved yuffie but she was a materia thief....grrrrrrrr...!but she did pull thru and get me Leviathan at that tower!!!as for the rhubarb thing, i was just being random... ;D i personally liked vincent.my party almost always consisted of three ppl out of cloud, red xiii, vincent, and yuffie.yeah when i read VirusZero's comment my heart dropped...but with all the different personalities in FF7 there's bound to be differences, but that's part of the fun!!!*smiles because he still doesn't know exactly what flaming is*sadly, i don't have a rhubarb on hand, but i know they are great for pies!!

as for cid. i used him a little bit and i found his limits to be a bit weak (atleast the first ones) his magic wasn't the greatest but his attack i found was good enough to balance it. overall i think his personality was ok.

Yeah flamings like me, after VZ's post on not liking vincent, saying something like, "You moron! Vincent is the best, only an idiot wouldn't like him so you must be one." Not that I said that or thought it, just giving an example.

And about Cid's limit breaks, I agree they were kind of weak compared to other characters. Especially Cloud's Omni Strike ^_^

vincent was awesome.it's funny that cid was an airship kind of guy, cause that's what i wanted to push him out of...lol.thanx for the flaming definition.sticks to freezing(wow, that was lame).lol.i also found no use for tifa, i don't know why.....but she does play a big part in the storyline...so she's ok i guess.

i gave tifa most of the healing materia and a hp plus materia so she'd have alot of hp and could survive vs almost any attack. ( i did eventually give cloud and barret/vincent hp pluses as well but tifa was first. ) i gave the best summons to cloud (bahamut zero and knights of the round ) and finished him off with a bit of basic magic (fire or lightning and ice materia some coupled with all's) and the counter, 2x hit and w-item.

final character got a good mix of healing and the other strong magic (comet, flare, and maxed out fire and lightning)

i gave red 13 the major magic firepower, because he is awesome.so maybe i was biased when it came to equipping the good magic materia.cloud got some magic but mostly counter, deathblow, a summon, etc.and then vincent and yuffie got a balanced mix.when i play an RPG i tend to stick w/ one party(bad habit, especially when u need to use other ppl).

Cait Sith and Yuffy...but defently Cait Sith...why?...because is a good for nothing guy, opps,cat like creature, that despite of dying and reapiring a new one,in the game, he doesn't have a much role play....

i know..cait sith was really there for the heck of it, he has no backstory or anything.

I actually have a friend of mine that has cait sith in level 99....he says he's awsome...i can't see how that thing can be good in the game...i mean i experimented playing with him...and he suked pretty bad...and he's weapons were ridiculous... let's face it, who uses cell phones as weapons....and they would be even more stronger depending on their color...ridiculous...

next there'll be someone using a calculator....lol

the calculator's person's lvl 4 limit break would be Clear....lol..instant death or high damage and status ailments!!!back on useless characters...i actually didn't care for cloud...he was strong, but my dream party was red 13, yuffie, and vincent.so, i didn't really dislike cloud, he just got in the way of my dream lol.

My best team in ff7 is Cloud, Vincent and Barret...believe me those tree guys leveld up to the max with all their secret weapons and limit breaks...oh yeah baby, they can do some pretty awfull and powerfull damage...and the right materia of course...

Cloud's limits are awesome, as are Vincent's, but idk about Barret's.....and I'm a Materia Freak!!!!MWAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!

I only chose barret because i give him that materia that copy's the enemies moves...i don't remenber now but he copied an powerfull attak with that thing, i don''t remenber now..i don't play that game for like, two years now...

i hate yuffie for the fact that she's really weak! i mean she's got speed i'll give her that but overall preety useles. i love sephiroth (too bad he's a bad guy) ;)
