This wouldn't fit well in the poll system because of the billions of games and that I have two categories in one topic, under rated and over rated.
First off, I say it has to be either Final Fantasy 7 or Halo. I admit FF7 is great and all but it has such a high fan base that some aspects are over rated. Characters like Cid Cate(Whatever that fat thing and its cat friend's name was.) even have a fan base. o.O. Then the gameplay is very RPGish like the past FF games. The new current ones seem more innovative which gives them a plus. Even Legend of Dragoon which came out at around the same time period had a more innovative gameplay style.
As for Halo, well I don't see the story as that great. The weapons are like in every other shooter game, it makes Shadow the Hedgehog's guns look new. Halo 2 seemed like almost the exact thing. i swear, you went in and blew up a library right? Now in halo three I bet you you'll be fighting the Covetant and then they'll be some Master Computer that you have to blow up and then that blows up all the Halo's in the universe... The story is over rated itself and I know that when that happens developers get sloppy and they think the title will sell itse;f, which it usually does.
The entire 3D section of Sonic Series is under rated. I look at critics and they are vertially against Sonic. Not once will you find a biast opinion for Sonic, as you will other games. Critics lean towards Mario, which in any case hasn't evolved in 20 years. I recently looked at Mario Galaxy and it appears critics have higher expectations for that over Sonic the Hedgehog. Critics are more into the rail system placed on Sonic Wild Fire, not the free ability given in Sonic 360/PS3.
What game(s) do you think are over rated or under rated.
Halo befor i even look at yours thats what i thout of for over rated well really i think halo 2 halo was good halo 2 sucks
Well, at first it wasn't bad, but then I heard everyone going OMFG!!! I play Halo online and it is the best title on the XBox. Then you try to say something else and they try to say otherwise against your opinion
overrated: pokemon R/S. cmon, they both have ratings higher than emerald!
underrated: Yggdra Union(no faqs in gamefaqs at the time of this posting, so underrated) and Pokemon Mystery Dungeon: REd Rescue Team. VERY challenging. even more than Emerald, and you dont need to link to get all pokemon, so thats a +
