No you're not a noob. i haven't played a lot of the FF games I just happen to know storylines and I watch bits of what my brother played. That's Squall from FF8, he's part of the SEED. He's one of the best FF characters actually in my opinion.

Gunblade. They actually did exist but you don't see to many around. They're mostly in eastern continents.

Yeah i didn't answer just to get a specific character. About Gun Blades exhisting they're actually replicas that are made to work like they do in the game. I'm not sure if the gun really works but I assume so since the blade is real, everything in the replica should work.

Gunblades don't use bullets. The blade blocks them from using em...I think...

then how do they shoot???

as far as i knew the gunblades never fired actual bullets, what it did when the trigger was pulled was fire a shockwave through the blade, increasing damage. ( thus in the renzokuken why you needed perfect timing on execution of the button press- press to late and the shockwave misses them, press to early and they catch only the tale end of it. )

though in real life gunblades have existed, they were just rflintlock guns with a small knife on the end of them mounted beside the barrel.

Yep...VZ is right, a gun blade is a sword none the less...it may have a triger in it but it only serves, like VZ said correctly, to increase the power of the hit when in closer encounters...and because when that happens you hear a noise like a gun shot that's why they call it a gunblade...but bassicly it's still a normal sword...

Actually what I heard was that when the trigger was pressed in triggered some sort of fire thing that was inside the gun blade. Something like that, don't remember how it exactly was but the person who told me sounded convincing and was more descriptive, of course. As for the knife with guns and stuff, aren't those just bannets?
