I've been talking to the webmaster of the site I'm on, SqueakyZoneProductions (hereafter referred to as TSZ), and he has agreed to pretty much let me run things. I've been given permission to advertise FFSX, host it (if BDX approves), and link to the forums.

To give a history of TSZ, we've been pretty popular over the years. Back during the huge spriting boom from 2002 - 2004, TSZ was among the top spriting sites, with 2 HUGE comics on their lineup: the original Final Fantasy Sonic, and YASSSC (Yet Another Stupid Sonic Sprite Comic). Our site is still popular among the oldbies that hang around the various Sonic communities, and I think FFSX and TSZ could benefit from a form of merger. I'm still waiting on BDX to come back and talk to me about this, but I wanted to hear everybody's thoughts on it.

though we'd have an even bigger problem of those who sign up just to watch bdx's flash without contributing to the community as a whole.. (which was why he restricted access in the first place..)

unless you were talking about hosting it at your site, and then we post it here for viewing..

this way we wouldn't have the problem of lurkers and potential rippers..

Yeah, I was talking about hosting it at my site. BDX would also have a place to make announcements, and anything else.

I've seen your comic and sprites on that site.

Yeah, I'm planning on updating more often now. I'm also trying to learn Flash.

I remember reading a comic of yours and then thinking about how cool it would be if it were a flash.. that was like 2 years ago..

....Merger.... No, I believe that may be a bad idea.
Why? because as I see it that's another place BDX's stuff could get ripped from, and plus then if anything happens to us or you, then we both lose.
If we affiliated or became like family communities maybe but not if we became completely interwined.

plus, would it be a good idea to have FFSX and Final Fantasy Sonic in the same place? (i'm not sure if people would notice the difference of the single letter, and would then start wrongly attributing credit to one person or the other.)

Hmm. TSZ seems like a decent enough place to combine with our glorious forum. Usually Aeon is good with these sort of negotiations so I'm giving it the thumbs up. :ok:

Wouldn't be any easier to steal on TSZ than it would be on Newgrounds. Plus, BDX would have a readily available place to defend his stuff. I've found that if you back your work up with a website, then rippers have a hard time actually claiming ownership over your stuff.

I really don't see what either of use would have to lose. I've dealt with my fair share of identity thefts, and all but one have died down to nothingness.

Actually, I believe it would. They're both widely recognized pieces of work, and can ride off of each other's popularity.

You do have a point there, but that would be easily fixed. I'd merely add a section for BDX, just like for the other members of TSZ. It'd be easy to differentiate between the two artists.

No, I'm not saying that the forums would change or anything. As far as the forums are concerned, all I would do is link to the forums. Nothing about the forums would be changing at all. @_@
