Don't take Megaman X7, it has horrible voice actors.
Dark Mage - December 18, 2006 02:37 PM (GMT)
I want it for the gameplay, not for the voice actors.
Does Zero at least have a good voice actor?

I have both X7 and X8 and I can say that X8 is alot more fun to play, though it is tougher on the first run through ( you'll see why when you first play it )
but they made ALOT of changes to the gameplay set up, gone are the heart tanks, and find reploid sections. But one change I like was they brought it back to the roots, and returned it to 2D gaming, the environments and characters are rendered in 3D but they play like 2D much like the maverick hunter X for the PSP (it sounds wierd, I know but it does work really well.)
X7 is also a deviation from previous games in it is partially 3D, and some places are fully 3D and roamable, which for boss battles is a real nice feature (and it does work well there). The levels are often a 2D and a 3D combination so some parts are 2D and some are 3D, but thats not too bad. Also this game forces you to use Zero and Axl for the majority of it (either rescue 64 reploids or beat it once to unlock X) which is a major blow for people who like to play as X, Zero isn't really that useful in this game (except for boss parts to take a hit you don't want Axl to take)
the music in both games is great, though if you like rock, then you'll find X8's music more to your tastes. the voice acting in X7 isn't that great but it's still better than the voices of X4 (squeaky X anyone?) and X8's voice work is better then X7's.
as far as gameplay goes X7 and X8 are alot alike, 8 standard missions, a few fortress levels endgame, but these 2 games tend to focus more on a story than other installments of the game series. (specifically x1-x3).
playing is easy enough thoughin X7 the 3D factor can add a bit more difficulty when making jumps, so just besure to watch where your going to land.
overall both games are good but it all comes down to your preferences...

I want both,I'm aiming to finish every Megaman game there is,hoping too.
Axl sounds worse than Charmy does in Shadow the Hedgehog and Sonic Heroes.
Megaman and X sounded like 6 year olds, but X sounded like a 19 year old in X8's ending.
