Saddam to be executed tonight

BAGHDAD, Iraq - The official witnesses to
Saddam Hussein's impending execution gathered Friday in Baghdad's fortified Green Zone in final preparation for his hanging, as state television broadcast footage of his regime's atrocities.

The Iraqi government readied all the necessary documents, including a "red card" — an execution order introduced during Saddam's dictatorship. As the hour of his death approached, Saddam received two of his half brothers in his cell on Thursday and was said to have given them his personal belongings and a copy of his will.

Najeeb al-Nueimi, a member of Saddam's legal team in Doha, Qatar, said he too requested a final meeting with the deposed Iraqi leader. "His daughter in Amman was crying, she said 'Take me with you,'" al-Nueimi said late Friday. But he said their request was rejected.

An adviser to Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said Saddam would be executed before 6 a.m. Saturday, or 10 p.m. Friday EST. The time was agreed upon during a meeting between U.S. and Iraqi officials, said the adviser, who declined to be named because he is not authorized to speak to the media.

"The time has been agreed upon. It will be done by six o'clock in the morning," the adviser said. "The agreement was reached during a meeting between Iraqi and American officials. Saddam will be handed over shortly before the execution."

Oh so they're finally killing that Son of a Bitch. Send him all the way to hell!

Atleast Hitler was kind to his own people
Starlin didn't go to war

But Sadam killed and tortured his own people

Hang him!? well that seems apropiate despite all of our good methods to kill that conceded, wretched, pathetic excuse for a human! I say good riddinds to bad rubbish.
Hope the next Iraq leader would be a little more generous and kind to his people. :-_-:

I have seen the famous cell phone video of the execution. The ending was nothing more than the sight of the former dictator's body hanging from the noose, his eyes half opened and his mout agape. A gruesome scene indeed but at least a reign of terror has ended.

I am by NO means a supporter of Saddam, so please don't think of me as such, when I say this.. but, I was sad to see that he was killed, but then again, I am always saddened by the loss of life.. regardless of who that person was, or what they did.

It is just as sad because we invaded Iraq under the assumption that it had WMD's as well link to Al Qaida.. when in all actuality, there was no link to Al Qaida.. Bush wanted to settle a grudge, and he has accomplished exactly that.

However, Saddam was not the person linked to the 9/11 attacks, Bin Laden was, so what has Bush got to show for that?

I believe that killing Saddam has made him a martyr, and that it was the easy way out. I think that he should have gotten life in prison for his crimes, so that he would have had to live out the remainder of his life like an animal.

While some may believe that this is over, or that Saddam's death meant the beginning to the end or terrorism, I do believe that this is just the beginning of something worse..

People may have been pissed at us over this "War On Terror" but I think that when we killed Saddam, they are even angrier then they had been before.. and so for that, I think that we are in for a lot worse from them, then we had if we had allowed Saddam to live.

For these reasons, I am not dancing in the streets, and rejoicing over Saddam's death.. even if he was a ruthless S.O.B, who had it coming.
