This is just an idea, but maybe elite members should be nominated.

What I mean is maybe elite members should be chosen like this.

• Elite/Mods/Admins elect a active member for elite member status.
• The nomenator posts a nomination and reasons for it.
• Elites/mods/admins vote on if the member should become elite.
• If enough of them approve then the nomenated becomes an elite member.
• BDX and BA can overide nominations.

This is just an idea. And you might think it's unneccessary, but I just wanted to post this idea.

That would be a good idea, however there is a reason that choosing the elites is only staff's responsiblity, and that is because we go by overall activity and behavior on the forum. In addition to these attributes, we also factor in that members' past behavior.

If someone was once suspended for ripping, or were restricted from the ffsx areas because they signed up, and then lurked in that area, only to disappear and do the same the following days, then that person will not have a great chance at elite status.

Another reason is due to the fact that we are able to judge based on these qualities alone, without interference from how we feel about that person. (Some of you may nominate beause they are your friends, or the like..)

Some of you may be able to do that as well, whereas, some of you cannot..

Though, I do agree that we need to promote more members, and that is why I have been recommending quite a few of you for Elite status, and so, if and when bdx, and the other staff get a chance, then we will discuss it and then see what happens. :)

No problem, it was a good idea though, and it was something that has come up before, however, it is important that we judge by our criteria, as opposed to publicity, this way we don't end up making a bad choice.
