Title: Unable to scroll to end of topics.

Gameshrk90 - January 10, 2007 05:02 AM (GMT)
A little after the update, I have been unable to fully scroll down a topic. I get about 2 thirds of the way down and it starts pulling a "Never ending stairs" from Mario 64 on me. And I can't see the most reacent posts. What's going on?

Dark Mage - January 10, 2007 06:47 AM (GMT)
It's most likely because Blazermax has too much in his sig,it does it to me as well.

Mystic Mage - January 10, 2007 07:01 AM (GMT)
Yeah it loads up as you scroll down
Happens to me aswell

Black Angel - January 10, 2007 07:25 AM (GMT)
I have no idea why this is happening.. there isn't anything in the css for the skin, (save for different colors and images) that wasn't in there before.

I go through something similar to that when I go into the "Updates" topic in the "Announcements and Feedback" forum..

I'll triple check just to make sure, but I apologize if I wasn't much help.

Dark Mage - January 10, 2007 08:31 AM (GMT)
It's probably because Blazermax's sig is too big,the same thing happened with ShadowKirby21,his sig kept screwing up my browser.

Gameshrk90 - January 10, 2007 12:46 PM (GMT)
Yeah. If he replied, it does that. Ask him to shorten his sig and let's see if it works. He can always copy and paste it if it isn't that.

Mystic Mage - January 10, 2007 04:32 PM (GMT)
Alot of the images could be made smaller. I think there was a reason why you had a scroll bar if it was too big :p

VirusZero - January 10, 2007 05:14 PM (GMT)
the same thing was happening to me last night, but I don't think it is Blazermax's signature because I got the same effect from DM's as well as Mystic mage (so don't be so quick to point the finger.), I just think it happened to be who ever posted towards the end and it was a glitch somewhere, because it happened to me in IE but when I switched to Opera, it went away.

QUOTE (VirusZero @ Jan 10 2007, 12:14 PM)
I got the same effect from DM's as well as Mystic mage

But that can't be VZ, because when I scroll down when DM and Mystic already posted nothing happens. It only happens when members have too much sign's.

blazermax - January 10, 2007 06:13 PM (GMT)
it was happening to DMs and Marans fighting sigs too. I was seeing two of em at the same time.

Mystic Mage - January 10, 2007 08:26 PM (GMT)
Weird thing is that it's only started with this skin...

Black Angel - January 10, 2007 08:39 PM (GMT)
Like I said, I don't know why this is happening, but I know for a fact that it isn't the skin.

I checked the css, and did not find anything out of the ordinary, or anything that wasn't in the last skin.

The only thing I can suggest is that you clear your cache, and/or reboot if necessary.

I had the same problem with the flash sigs, when ever it happened, the sigs ended up on top of other peoples posts, and as a result, I could not scroll down.

I cleared my cache, and it was fine.

Mystic Mage - January 10, 2007 08:41 PM (GMT)
I'm starting to get that "Error with IE" that i never got with this site
Something must of changed
I cleared my cache yesterday guess i could do it again but doing it every time i come on here will be a pain BA :-_-:

Snowflame - January 10, 2007 08:44 PM (GMT)
It could be the forum it's self or our computers.

Mystic Mage - January 10, 2007 08:47 PM (GMT)
I emptied my recycle bin... It's still got the scrolling problem but i can move without the error thing :...:

Black Angel - January 10, 2007 08:53 PM (GMT)
I can access the forum just fine as a guest using IE 7.. if need be I can take a screenshot to prove it.

Snowflame - January 10, 2007 08:54 PM (GMT)
Then what could possibly do this? A viruse or something?

Black Angel - January 10, 2007 08:59 PM (GMT)
I dunno, I had the same problem a long time ago when we had a skin by Kman up there..

all I did was clear my cache, and it was fine.

I am not using any browser-specific codes in the wrappers or the css..

All it is is colors and images.. the images are hosted by imageshack, and if there was a problem with their servers, then the images themselves would not load at all..

Dark Mage - January 10, 2007 10:03 PM (GMT)
At the moment it's a problem with IE,I switched to Opera and it worked, my IE froze, but I can't always use Opera,it screws up my RPG System on C.O.D

Anywho,back on topic.

VZ:I only have my flash sig at the moment.

Blazer: You have heaps in your sig, please, take a bit of it out, because there's too much.

VirusZero - January 10, 2007 10:15 PM (GMT)
DM, the opera browser doesn't screw up the code, it just interprets it incorrectly on that browser, if you use IE for it it will work fine.
Also it may not be the contents (or ammount of content) of the signatures thats doing it, so thats why I say hold off until we determine the actual problem.

but I've had trouble accessing this forum with IE before, for the longest time I had to use firefox because IE would crash everytime I tried to get here.

Gameshrk90 - January 10, 2007 10:16 PM (GMT)
I think I figured it out. The scroll bar on the long sigs aren't showing up. Unless you are scrolling with the large scroll bar, so the small one that you normally don't see now reacts with the big one, keeping the screen there,

Black Angel - January 10, 2007 10:34 PM (GMT)
The RPG hack on C.O.D. is not cross-browser.

TESM had the same hack on his forum 2 years ago..

The scrollbars show up on my end, however, I do believe that it is time that we enforce the sig size limit for images.

It makes no sense to be having wallpaper-sized images in your signature anyway..

VirusZero - January 10, 2007 10:57 PM (GMT)
I've already checked the size for blazer's sigs and the large "blazer kirby" one is 381 x 304 px (at a files size of 81 kb) then the "who do you fight like" naruto quiz result is 346 x 203 px (at 19 kb) and the rest of his sig is negligable in size.

the rules say that optimally a sig should be "Your signatures should be no wider than 550 px, and no longer than 200 px" (quoted from the FAQ- http://ffsx.sytes.net/index.php?showtopic=1296)

blazermax - January 10, 2007 11:57 PM (GMT)
i removed everything sept blazer kirby and it stopped slowing down for me.

yeah I can comfirm that it was my sig.

Gameshrk90 - January 11, 2007 02:24 AM (GMT)
Great! Sorry if we offended you in some way though...

Mystic Mage - January 11, 2007 06:49 AM (GMT)
Mine's working purfect now
Thanks Blazer

Anyone need me to lessen my Sig?

Snowflame - January 11, 2007 11:24 AM (GMT)
Man, its working.
