Title: City vs. Country

Black Angel - January 11, 2007 03:47 AM (GMT)
I have lived in both places, and I prefer the city.

I could not live in a place where the city literally shuts down after 9 pm.. *cough* Saluda *cough*

I need to be in a place where there is something to do any any hour, on any given night..

I also need to be in a place where on any given day, i can talk to someone from the other side of the planet.. if not, then at least get some good food from the restaurants that represent these countries..

I cannot be in a place that is so quiet that I can hear myself think.

I also love being able to look out my window and seeing the city..

That is why I love N.Y.C. so much.

In my opinion, there isn't a city that can compare to it.

Which would you prefer to live, in the city, or in the country?

No city that can compare? I dunno about that....
Halifax is pretty great, with more girls than guys, it doesn't shut down til after 2 am with is pretty good, sure it isn't the all night or all the time but still at 2 am I like to sleep anyway.
the cost is pretty decent all things considered and the people are nice, the city is clean, and there is a pretty low crime rate in comparison to other cities.

Meh I live in the Chicago area. I have to deal with gangstas and gangsters, (There's a difference to me. Ta is fake wannabe's, Ters are real but seldom surface.) no stars at night, and of course the feirce city highschool hierarchy. And I'm only in the subburbs. Thank God I'm in a Catholic highschool.

Any how, I think I'd perfer country living as long as I get some basic comforts native to a city.

I'll give you the crime, though, that all depends on where you are, and what you were doing..

For example, If you are out for a night on the town, and there will be drinking, then at least have enough common sense to:

A. Have a designated driver.

B. Have cabfare, so that you can take your drunk ass home.

C. Make sure that the ladies get home safely.. (as it is, it seems that drunken women are easier targets for rapists, then drunken men.)

And quite simply, stay away from areas known to have gang activity.. or a high level of crime activity.. simple as that.

But most importantly, use common sense.. though these rules are not specific to NYC alone, as they are simply common sense.

And unless you expect to go to the Ritz-Carlton, or the Rainbow Room, or the Russian Tea Room, you won't need much money to have a good time here.

In fact, there is a show called 9.99, here on NYC TV that talks about places you can go and have a good time at and you won't spend much money..

here is a link to an episode..

im a natural 100% manhatan born girl. i've gone to the country a few times with my father and it's beautiful and peaceful. sumtimes too peaceful. im not used to quiet. even if im jus relaxing i like hearing soft music or listening to birds and stuff but dead silence makes me shiver. i love the excitement and thrill of the city, the magic at night and the morning rush of people shopping or going to work. when u live in the city u fall in love with it, depending on who u are.
if i ever moved to the country, there would have to be seriouse reasons for it. like sum1 dying or a catastrophee or sumthin. nuthing less than that. so in a sense im saying i agree with BA. the city owns.
