Title: Pizza

Black Angel - April 12, 2007 11:06 PM (GMT)
What do you like on your pizza?

Striker Nexus - April 12, 2007 11:10 PM (GMT)
Really, I like everything, but the poll wouldn't let me vote for everything, so... Pepperoni, and Extra Cheese

blazermax - April 12, 2007 11:14 PM (GMT)
Must...... vote......... for........ CHEESE!!!

Striker Nexus - April 12, 2007 11:22 PM (GMT)
Cool, cheese!

Sephiroth - April 12, 2007 11:50 PM (GMT)
I'm pretty much sick of pizza right now...but i like it when it has extra chesse on it.

Dictator - April 13, 2007 12:14 AM (GMT)
lol, Seph. I like bacon, extra cheese, and pepperoni. Mmmm...

A.J. The Echidna - April 13, 2007 12:56 AM (GMT)
Leave my pizza alone. I'm a plain Italian, that means just marinara and cheese for me.

Striker Nexus - April 13, 2007 01:09 AM (GMT)
Pizza is good for the soul...

Soul_Gatherer3000 - April 13, 2007 02:15 AM (GMT)
I'm a little italian on my mom's side, but I like-a the pepperoni for it owns all other meat products other than bacon ... and steak ... and turkey necks  .

VirusZero - April 13, 2007 03:18 AM (GMT)
....

Chicken, steak, pepperoni, salami, hamburger, bacon, extra cheese, pineapple, ham, donair meat.

There I think that covers the basics...

Black Angel - April 13, 2007 03:23 AM (GMT)
Jeez VZ, if those are the basics, then I'd hate to see complex..

Donair meat?

VirusZero - April 13, 2007 03:36 AM (GMT)
yeah it gets more complex cause we start combining things.

For example- take some chicken, barbeque sauce, and alot of cheese and onions and right there is one damn fine pizza. (pizza crust, sauce, cheese, chicken and onions. or customize to your tastes)

and yeah donair meat is good. that layered on a pizza starting with sauce, cheese, pepperoni, then some donair meat then cheese and more donair meat. then you can have it with donair sauce or not. (I prefer not, but thats me...)

oh yeah, Papa John's has a BBQ Chicken pizza that is insanely good..

We also tried theit BBQ chicken and bacon.. that shit rocked..

and what is Donair meat?

Is it beef? chicken? pork? venison? moose? bear? fish? or a combination of them all?

Pepperoni will always be my favorite! Although I presonally like everything on it...Except anchovies. *Or however you spell that...* Pepperoni will always be my favorite at heart!

Soul_Gatherer3000 - April 13, 2007 04:29 AM (GMT)
I looked it up on wikipedia and it forwarded me to Döner Kebab which has several short names, one of which is donair. It says that it's turkish and literally means turning roast and it is made with mutton, beef, or chicken. See this site 4 more inf0

Black Angel - April 13, 2007 05:04 AM (GMT)
Ah.. what you know as Donair meat up there is known as Gyro meat down here..

I've always wondered what it was.. it didn't taste like beef, or chicken.. when I had it on a gyro, and whenever I asked one of the cooks, they said it's "gyro meat.. it's made of meat" with a heavy accent..

I was afraid that it was cat or something..

Dark Mage - April 13, 2007 07:49 AM (GMT)
Cheese,Pepporoni and Bacon FTW.

Striker Nexus - April 13, 2007 11:23 AM (GMT)
Well, combos are good too. Some toppings on a pizza enhance the flavor of another topping.

VirusZero - April 13, 2007 04:05 PM (GMT)
Donairs are good. On pizza, they're even better. And whats funny is until I read that part on wikipedia about döner kebap's I didn't know that Halifax had made any contributions...
let alone this....

QUOTE

A variation on the döner kebab known as a Donair was introduced in Halifax Regional Municipality, Nova Scotia, Canada in the early 1970s. A restaurant called King of Donair claims to have been the first to serve this version in 1973.

The meat in this version of the döner kebab (Halifax donair, as it is sometimes referred to) is sliced from a loaf cooked on a vertical spit, made from a combination of ground beef, flour or bread crumbs, and various spices, while the sauce is made from evaporated milk, sugar, vinegar, and garlic. The meat and sauce are served rolled in pita bread with diced tomato and onion. This version is generally so packed with ingredients, that the pita is almost there for ceremonial purposes; the pita of any true Haligonian donair will be so soaked in sauce that attempts to pick it up will be fruitless.

This version of the donair is very popular in many parts of Canada, with many fast food pizza restaurants also featuring donairs on the menu. Many of them also offer a donair pizza featuring all of the donair ingredients served on a pizza crust. Donair subs are also not uncommon. The Halifax Regional Municipality, in particular, seems to take a certain pride in the donair as its own defining fast food. There are long lines to buy them at 3:30 A.M., after the bars close. The donair sauce on its own used to be provided for free though due to it gaining popularity it is often provided for a small fee with garlic fingers or as a pizza topping (e.g., Barbecue chicken pizza with donair sauce) by Halifax pizza restaurants — even local franchises of chains not based in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

And yes I confirm all of this. You need to wrap it in tinfoil first otherwise forget picking it up... and even then you will be drowned in donair sauce.

but I digress...
The pizza is awesome. Taco pizza is also good as well. I've yet to try some more specialty pizzas (like the seafood pizza with lobster, crab and some kinds of fish.)
Since lobster is good (I haven't had crab meat, but if it's like lobster then I'll like it), I may yet try it.

Soul_Gatherer3000 - April 13, 2007 05:13 PM (GMT)
I've never tried mutton, much less donair. It sounds good, but what about price?

Snowflame - April 13, 2007 06:45 PM (GMT)
Pizza with ham T-A-S-T-E-Y!!!

Striker Nexus - April 13, 2007 08:40 PM (GMT)
Yeah, it is. Mmm.....

VirusZero - April 13, 2007 11:38 PM (GMT)
Well, around where I live donair meat can be bought in containers for a few dollars. (That's just the meat and some sauce...) You can get it on pizzas as either a regular topping or as an extra topping on what you normally have. (As an extra topping it costs a dollar or two more than normal.)

Donair subs run about 4-6 dollars depending on size. And just for a donair it's 3-5 dollars. (roughly depending on which place you go and what specials are on.)

Striker Nexus - April 14, 2007 01:28 PM (GMT)
Sorry guys, I still like Pepperoni Pizza with Extra Cheese.

Soul_Gatherer3000 - September 26, 2007 07:07 AM (GMT)
If I could change my vote I would 'cause I'm about addicted to jalo's now, so good and stomach screwwy-uppy.
