Black Angel - April 16, 2007 06:36 PM (GMT)
Will you get it? Why or why not?
Sephiroth - April 16, 2007 08:53 PM (GMT)
Nope, mostly because i can't afford it right now, but it sure looks interesting...
Dark Mage - April 17, 2007 08:40 AM (GMT)
No,because it's so tight on security and you will hardly be able to do anything and there's a back to it and cops can access your files, and there are still quite a few bugs.

I have no plans on "purchasing" a copy for my personal or professional use.
IMHO it is just xp with a Digital rights management Chastity belt encircling graphical ripoffs from Mac OS 10+, Ubuntu Linux, KDE and Gnome Graphical systems.
Why pay for all that crap, and get to have the opportunity to choose from 5 different overpriced versions to boot.
No thanks ill save my next cornholing for the Irs on the 15th of April.
Ill pass on this one micro$oft. :-_-:

I have no intention of getting this either, for the same reasons Mr. Nest mentioned, in addition to, the fact that it asks for so much to install.
But, when the time comes where XP is no longer supported, I may switch to either Mac, or Linux..

I just bought a laptop with vista on it, VISTA EATS MEMORY. you need a lot of ram if your gonna run several programs on vista or your cpu will jus crash

Microsoft is making Linux look more and more tempting... Seriously, not everyone has the lastest supercomputer that can handle the newest software. And software developers have to remember this and try to cut the hardware requirements as best they can...
For example Mcaffee or Norton. They REALLY need to look at cutting hardware requirements by alot. Their programs are powerful yes, but you need an el-deluxo-top-of-the-line-right-off-the-factory-line-model just to use them without suffering major performance reductions. And in today's market, not everyone can afford to buy the necessary parts or a new computer for every upgrade.
This is where Linux comes in... Their open source operating system can be VERY light on the hardware (So light it can run off a jumpdrive... In fact some sell customizable jumpdrives loaded with linux. So you can boot linux right off the jumpdrive. The only reason it's sell is because you buy the jumpdrive, the linux is freely loaded on.)
