Have you ever gotten a PM from someone asking you to join their forum? Have you ever sent a PM advertising your forum? If so, what did you do? How do you feel about PM advertising?

On the IF Support Board I did,I forwarded it to Ben (One of the admins there), he handled it,I find it annoying at times because if I want to join a forum,I will.

I did it... I wanted to help a friend of mine because his board was dying. So I asked some people for help.

yeah win o was young i would sign up to a message board with the same subject and ask every one to join my friends site. I don't do that anymore though, i would hate for somebody to join any of my sites just to do that.

I only did it once out of revenge..

One time someone sent mme a pm advertising their board, so i signed up and pm advertised the board that they pm advertised at..

But nowadays, when someone sends me one, I immeediately forward it to an admin..

I really hate pm advertisers though.. they really piss me off, and it just goes to show how low that they would stoop to get someone to look at a crappy site that they really hadn't much faith in from the get-go..

PM Advertising not only makes the site look bad, but the staff, and the members who are apart of it as well.. it makes me think that if they were so desperate as to resort to pm advertising on other boards, then they may have stooped to creating fake members as well.. <= and that would deter me from joining the board.. even if I actually liked it..

You won't get many quality members from pm advertising.. I can say that much from experience..
