Do you think that it is ethical to ban gays from donating blood?

Why or Why not?

People think that homosexuals are "Born Gay' So that means that homo-sexual blood must run through them. So nobody wants to have the fear of being turned gay by taking the blood of a homo-sexual, even thought that blood might be the one to save your life. This is a tough call for those people. Even if your not a homo-phobe, you dont want the fear of being turned gay just because you used the blood of a homo-sexual. Do i think its ethical? I cant answer that. I think everyone who is without disease can give blood no problem, but that would mean that they might seperate the blood from the gays and the non gays.

Should men who have sex with sluts be allowed to give blood? Yes, If it comes back disease free.

What is unethical is those who feel the need to pass judgment on someone for who they fall in love with. Gays don't judge us for being straight, so who the hell are we to judge them?

Gay Blacks have the highest risk for AIDS in this country, and not just gays..

That is mainly due to improper treatment of HIV positive inmates in maximum security prisons, AIDS, and HIV positive inmates whom are serving life sentences, have sex with other men and end up spreading it to those who are serving shorter sentences, who, in turn, are then released and then end up starting new relationships, or resuming old ones, and end up infecting their partners that way.. sexual irresponsibility, namely those men who have sex with women, and then have sex with men, but don't like to be called "gay, or bi-sexual" and go back to the women in their lives, who are none the wiser.. and lack of education among young blacks (namely in poor neighborhoods) those who end up thinking that sex is another way to pass the time, or look to hip hop, and rap, influences.. women who have unprotected sex thinking that their man is faithful, when in all actuallity, they are putting themselves at risk.. and those who use introvenious drugs, and then share needles with other drug users..

The messed up thing is, this can be prevented from going any further, but no one cares..

Young blacks could be educated on the dangers of sex, so that when they do decide to have sex, they will know how to protect themselves.

If the state actually gave proper treatment to the inmates infected with HIV and AIDS, and distributed condoms in these facilities, then that would greatly REDUCE the amount of new infections annually.. But, to do this, the state would have to acknowledge the fact that sex happens behind bars.. and actually give a damn.. in order to do something about it.

And as for the introvenious drug users, they could participate in a needle exchange program, where they could seek counsel about their addiction, get tested for AIDS, and HIV, and swap their dirty needles for clean ones.. seeing as how it has been proven that a needle exchange program, would not be correlated to an increase in introvenious drug users.

That said, Yes I think that it is unethical, as with any discrimination.

If they are going to ban gays from donating blood, then they should do the same to sexually promiscuous teens and people, drug users, blacks (since it has been stated that AIDS is a black disease in this country), porn stars, etc..
