Title: Sonic turns 16
Description: June 23 2007

A.J. The Echidna - June 23, 2007 03:01 PM (GMT)
It's official. Today the Blue Blur turns sixteen. He's gone from a side-scrolling hero to a racecar driver and even took up Soaping which he still does to this day. Most of us have stuck with him through the good times(His early games, Both Sonic Adventure titles, and everybodys favorite fan series Final Fantasy Sonic X) and the bad(Shadow the Hedgehog, Sonic Riders, and some may disagree but Sonic 06). There's news of a Sonic RPG coming soon so hopefully our blue buddy can star in another recent jem aside from Secret Rings. All in all today is his day so let the fans celebrate it any way they wish. Happy birthday Sonikku, my brother in years!

Well it's about damn time.. he's only been 15 for 16 years.

Striker Nexus - June 23, 2007 05:54 PM (GMT)
Really though.

Dictator - June 23, 2007 08:36 PM (GMT)
Somehow... Those game character just never age. Damn.

I just hope that the Sonic rpg doesn't just focus on Sonic or have a generic rpg plot. Also that the graphics are as good or better then secret rings.

Dictator - June 24, 2007 02:55 AM (GMT)
Actually, I'm looking toward the more realistic design of Eggman from StH, I like that design. The game, StH, just wasn't too good.

I do wonder what the game play will be like though, since Sonic is a speed demon and such. Maybe it'll have a Kingdom Hearts esque fighting style? And I wonder what new character will be in it. I'm excited for this, but let's not get hopes too high. StH sounded and looked good at first, but look at it now.

Apparently the rpg is on the NDS... That sucks... That means less than satisfactory graphics. Who knows if it's 2d or 3d?

Striker Nexus - June 24, 2007 10:12 PM (GMT)
It might be both like Sonic Rush.

Yeah, but BioWare is the developer apparently and they worked on great games like Kotor, Jade Empire, the Neverwinter Nights series, etc. So we can guess this should be an improvement on the Sonic series and that the game should hold some great stuff.

Hopefully so...

I'm a little angry because G4 announced that Sonic was a series that need to die.

All I can say is... WTF?

Dictator - July 2, 2007 08:07 PM (GMT)
The thing is.. You can't disagree with them completely. They make a lot of valid arguments whilst adding humor. If Sonic continues to screw up then it would in a sense 'deserve to die.' SEGA has been having trouble producing a game above a moderate score, which quite frankly is horrible. Take a look at SA2 when that came out for the DC. Genius game that was ranked high for its time. SA2:B didn't score as high because it was the same game, just being transfered to another platform so the scoring will be different of course.

Sonic Adventure, when that came out was an awesome hit. The thing is, SEGA hasn't been able to produce lately. To say the least, Sonic and the Secret Rings isn't really something to call an improvement, Sonic Rush was mediocre, and here we are still hoping.

For every Sonic-biased fan, Mario is kicking our ass. That's to be frank. Now that's bad and says it's in our games, not in the genre. We're missing a lot of content, and this whole 'mature' storyline idea thing just isn't working right and never will. Though, just maybe, with Yuji Naka gone and more freedom left to the developers then before, we may be able to produce something. Think about it. Naka leaves and Mario and Sonic feature in one game, SEGA make a Sonic RPG. Leaves you to question you if he was holding them back from a lot eh?

Anyways... my long point is that Sonic needs to straighten up otherwise it might as well die. :B):
