everyone in my family but me wears or has worn glasses
Black Angel - July 3, 2007 04:10 PM (GMT)
This is what I see when I wear glasses.. though in that pic, I was wearing contacts..

Without my glasses everything I see has a 7 px gaussian blur.
This is what I see when I don't wear them..

So.. yeah you pretty much have a good idea of how messed up my vision is without them..

I wear them, even when participating in sports and during my Jiu-Jitsu training.
blazing_heartnix - May 28, 2008 03:33 AM (GMT)
i don't, my vision is 20/20 as some say, but most of my familly do
MaranX - May 28, 2008 03:19 PM (GMT)
I used to wear glasses, but my sight wasn't that bad so I stopped. As I remember I had -1.00 dioptres for right eye and -0.50 dioptries for left.
ClockHass - May 28, 2008 07:31 PM (GMT)
Well, I don't at the moment, but I'm going to so I marked yes. My eye sight is pretty bad for distances.

Thats a tough call, that i cant answer B.A will have to answer that. You see even though im SUPPOSED to have glasses on, I can live and function without em, such as driving.(Except at night) I have driven through manhatten traffic with no glasses, and gone through canal 2x in one day going from L.I to manhatten. Without glasses and i have yet to have any accident or make any descision that renders me dangerous.
The only use for glasses for me are basically going to drive at night for raod trips, or going to the movies, or hell going to jut plain ol see anything at medium distances, but fact is, i can see things up close-mid far range, then after that it goes blurry. However for thing further then that such as if im looking at a kmart from the highway i can do.
Also Glasses tend to hurt my eyes when i put them on because there a bit TOO strong
Black Angel - May 28, 2008 07:50 PM (GMT)
that means that your prescription is too strong.. or.. by you not wearing your glasses, your eyes may have gotten stronger.. are they anything like dad's where you can see the past?
Initially, my glasses were only for reading.. I had astigmatism.. then I ended up being near-sighted.. I think my eyes have gotten too-dependant on them.. I thought about getting LASIK, but you have to keep getting it every few years.. it is not a permanent solution..
BlackDevilX - May 28, 2008 07:53 PM (GMT)
HELLL NO i got sick when i put them on. I felt like i crossed my eyes for great justice.
And as for strong perscription, they get it wrong. Thats how its always been.
ClockHass - May 28, 2008 09:28 PM (GMT)
I know how you feel. I had an older pair of glasses before they broke and they hurt my eyes when I wore them for awhile. It annoyed me a lot.
My problem with vision, is that I can't see things from a distance, like textures or peoples faces. So a lot of times I have to hear a voice or wait until I'm closer to tell who someone is, unless there is some distinctive feature I can tell.
blazing_heartnix - May 29, 2008 01:20 AM (GMT)
the only things i can't see are things that are really close like when u try to put a neclace on i can't see it well and i can't detemine the distance to move one piece to the other one out front
technogeek - May 29, 2008 02:01 PM (GMT)
yea i wear glasses but i don't care. I like mine. I have 20/20 vision when im wearing mine.

No glasses here, I think I needs 'em though, this is, I don't care.

I actually just got contacts yesterday to start trying out.. They're kinda annoying to be honest, I have trouble getting them in. Getting them out is easy. Just awhile ago I put them in, the left worked out fine but the right took forever and I felt this major pain right when I got it in.
Yeah.. I don't know. I have a week to see how I like them.. I might just go with glasses though.

I was 16 when I first got mine, and when my mom and I were at the eye doctor, and I was putting them in, it took me about an hour.. and it was that way until we went to Kings Dominion that summer with all of our cousins from Hampton, and our grandparents, aunts and uncles..
We were in the hotel when our stepfather was like "you have 2 minutes to get in the car or we are leaving you," I don't know what happened, but it took me 30 seconds to get each lens in my eye..
What I did to save time, was I took my left contact lens, and put it on my left pointer finger, tilted my head all the way back, and I took my right arm, put it behind my head, and reached for my left eyelid to hold it open, and then took my left hand, and gently lowered the edge of the lens to the surface of my eyeball, slid it underneath the [slightly elevated] eyelid, and pulled my hand away slowly.. then I slowly closed my left eye over the lens and moved my eye around until the lens was in the right place.. then blinked a few times to make them moist.. and then I did the same with the other eye..
I always started with my left first.. I don't know why, and I don't know why my right eye always took the longest..
I couldn't have bdx or our sister near me at the time when I was doing it otherwise they'd end up either distracting me, or bdx would end up kicking up dust..
ClockHass - June 2, 2008 01:35 AM (GMT)
lol. Yeah. My left one seems to be quicker to get in then the right. It took me an hour this morning to get them in and I think the prescription might be a little bad because when I'm looking at the monitor I have to squint for some reason, not to see, but because I guess my eyes aren't used to it.
I figured out how not to put contacts in this morning as well because when I did I felt this instant pain in my right eye and it hurt for awhile. My right eye was even red for awhile it hurt so bad.
BlackRyuX - June 3, 2008 10:23 PM (GMT)
Yea, but i only wear them when i feel like i need them.

I wear glasses too. In fact I've been having the same glasses for years, and they haven't failed me.
