Title: Bottled Water
Black Angel - July 27, 2007 06:15 PM (GMT)
Do you think Bottled Water is cleaner than Tap Water? Why or Why not?
VirusZero - July 28, 2007 03:28 AM (GMT)
Absolutely not. Considering I know that much of the bottled water around here is bottled in a town where it's almost like there is a permenant boil-order in effect... So how can that be healthy?
Even if it's been filtered I don't care, because I still know that I can boil my own water and get water just as pure/good (if not better than) any professionally bottled water. Aside from being cheaper, I know that the water hasn't been tampered with in other ways during the refining process. (Such as rust introduced from mass pipes, poor filtration, human error or any number of reasons of which a company won't admit. )
not to mention this...

I agree, though I have seen first hand how dirty bottled water is compared to tap water.. in school, we took samples, and looked at it undr a microsope.
Most of the places they claim the water comes from isn't really where they come from.

besides all the unamable things that could be in bottled water, tap water has minerals in it (unlike bottled water) that we need for our bodies. that's why u cant just only drink bottled water and think its ok.

Bottled water is fairly untrustworthy at best... just because it has been filtered doesn't mean anything... After it has been filtered it still has to be put in a container, sealed and then cooled/distributed.
There is alot of room for problems there... rusty pipes (which can happen...) contaminants in the pipe (from cleaning them) or otherwise uncleaned/improperly cleaned pipes. Dirt from air depositing into bottles before sealing. People sneezing/coughing/or otherwise being near unsealed bottles... Unclean/improperly cleaned bottles being used.
And for all that it's harder on the environment too... I think we need to ban bottled water here. I can see possibly taking bottled water into places where there isn't water... but thats a different situation.

If I'm out and I need water then I'll get bottled water, but at home I wouldn't drink bottled water.

The tap water her is as chlorinated as a swimming pool, if not more, ... yeah probably more. So I go with bottled water. The again not all bottled water is the same so it's hard to say, but I like the one from SubWaty (eat flesh!)
