Actually Sonic and Shadow both go the same speed, which is 175 mph.

Sonic is faster, Shadow is stronger.

actually sonic's speed exceeds 600 mph because he can cause a sonic boom by moving that fast.
as for which is faster isnt shadow because he is same speed as sonic without help but he has the boosts?

actually the reson that gave him his shoes is because thay wanted shadow to be able to keep up with sonic while sonic still bing the worlds only super-sonic hedgehog. look at the way shadow moves compared to sonic, shadow uses a skating motiion while sonic runs

if you want to get technical, sonic is faster but shadow can keep up with his shoes, without he would be royly screewd.

as far as power gose, I think shadow is stornger, but the onld sonic (like from 3, or CD) could fight him and mabey win. the onld sonic was much stronger, agile and faster, just watch the sonic movie or the sonic CD opening. he used to be able to do sonic boos at will, run over water, and do spindashes in mid-air and could almost fly with them. thay have downgraded sonic alot, but the new sonic couldent keep up with shadow in a fight. especally the super-strange version from sonic heroes

The only reason Shadow has those shoes is because he needed them on ARK. I have no idea who came up with the shoe idea but it makes no sense. The real question is how eactlly did Sonic get so fast? Some people saw it's his shoes and most people believe that it was when he was running he broke the sound barrier and got really fast. many possibilities but only one truth.

well i have no idea so i'll go with the typical capcom answer (when asked how megaman's hand goes into his arm to form his gun) its magic.

It isn't magic. it's robotics. Because Megaman is a robot, he has advanced technology to change him.

I believe that Robotnik killed Sonic's parents and experiemnted on Sonic and somehow he can move really fast with his Shoes on.

To clear this all up. Uncle Chuck, Sonic's mom, and Muttski are all de-robotisized. The only reason that Jules(Sonic's dad) is still robotisized is because of mortal damage done to him during war. If he was de-robotisized, he would die. According to Wikipedia, Sonic and Robotinik used to be good buddies and Roboitnik made Sonic's shoes but one day during a freak lab incident, Robotnik was fused with an egg and became Eggman.

whoever told you the eggman thing was sadly mistaken, his name was always eggman in japan, thay just decided to start calling him that in the US for translation resons. but still eggman is just his nickname, japan and US. his real name is still Ivo Julian Robotnik

im not sure about sonic's mom or the other characters, but in the sonic SatAm series uncle chuck is in fact robotized (he is another character on the show) :)

It's all in the comics. Uncle Chuck is the only well known character in Sonic's family but he was de-robotisized.

According to issue 123 in the story "The Last Robian", it shows that Eggman didn't do anything to leave Sonic's dad, Jules, robotisized.

Alright, here's what i'm going to say. it doesn't state that Shadow runs at the speed of sound, but on any Sonic thing it states Sonic can. Thus, this implies they are either equal or Sonic is faster.

When Robotnik was still Kintobor,Sonic was a good friend of his,and Kintobor asked Sonic to trst some shoes he made,Sonic tested them
in one of those exercise wheels and broke the sound barrier and was
turned blue,he was originally a brown hedgehog,and on that day
Sonic the super fast Hedgehog was born,and so was Robotnik.

If you want proof,it's on an offical Sonic comic made by Sonic Team.

That's one story. Various other stories say it's natural speed. Most say he was blue since his beginning. Though there are various universes I'd like Sonic Team to clear that debut once and for all.

As for me they are both fast but Shadow's is mostly his rocket shoes so I also think that Sonic is faster.
And one thing about Mega Man's buster. In the intro of Mega Man X3, X's is just hiding his hand in and the buster comes out instead of it. However in The Day of Sigma, X and Zero when they are using busters, their hand just starts to glow and the buster appears instead of it. I think that Capcom should do something with this.

Sonic of course..........Shadow's only fast because of his ridiculous rocket like shoes..........sonic his much more natural.......although i always thought that his shoes were very suspicious........but i think there's no doubt about who's faster......

I still say that they're either equal or it's Sonic, though I tip my hat to Sonic. Sonic's name is Sonic, stating he runs at Sonic Speeds! I've debated this with dozens of people who contradict me with unvalid statements, so why doesn't everyone just realise that it's SEGA's choice!?

Get a grip! They're the same speed if they weren't why did Sonic just outrun Shadow in Sonic Battle Adventure 2? Look if i was faster as sonic i would out run him jump and spin and smack shadow in the head and since the only way you could catch up with shado was ring running then... Tell me i'm wrong!
