Title: different anime

technogeek - December 6, 2007 03:25 PM (GMT)
what are ur thought on the types of anime that don't revolve around shooting, killing, flying , transforming, or shooting energy from ur hand? like Chobits or Boys Be?

Hmm, well it depends if those anime spark my interest. A good example of this would be BECK: Mongolian Chop Squad, which is about a boy who joins a rock band. The series has references to many of my favorite musical artists, has great songs, and the guitars and roto-scoping in the animation make it worthwhile to me.

does fighting count?

^ I believe fighting does count...

Let's see...It'd usually have to have a good story, interesting characters, and have me caring for the characters that when one of them dies. I will actually feel sad, and quite possibly shed a tear. Best example would have to be Air for me. It actually got me to shed tears for the characters, especially at the end of the series.

Gee... I haven't seen any other than Chobits... Maybe Angelic Layer cause dolls are fighting and not the people...guess not. Oh wait. That racing thing that was on Toonami counts right? It was fairly interesting.

technogeek - December 9, 2007 03:34 PM (GMT)
yea the racing thing counts fighting doesn't seeing that most anime is fighting.

remember anime that does not revolve around; shooting, beating, killing, flyinig, magic, and shooting energy from ur hand

We're scraping the bottom of the barrel here.

Detective Connan. (I think that's the name)
Speed Racer (Is that anime or just a cartoon?)
(I don't know how the first part goes but it ends in) Strawberry Eggs.
Excel Saga (More randomness than actual killing.)

Wow. I've got nothing.

technogeek - December 10, 2007 03:08 PM (GMT)
the original speed racer was a cartoon. made famous for obnixiously fast paced talking from the center of ur mind. Speed racer x which i think was a big improvement can be considered anime. what about transformers armada? (i'll allow that one) Voltron? we kinda gotta think about manga too.

does Card Captors count (well they do use magic but they don't kill)
i'm currently watching Death Note and some episodes nothin happens (killing, etc.),
to be honest i love it because the guy doesn't physically hadve to come into contact to the victims to kill them. But still it does count for magic; other than that Shi Shan it's awkward but cool.

It's not that. It's that mostly anime with action, and things like that tend to catch people's eyes a lot easier then those of the drama type. Personally I've only seen drama anime because I've either been interested in the characters, the artwork, or it's been recommended to me.

Aside from Sai Being in his head, Hikaru No Go is awesome and has nothing to do with that kind of stuff.

FoxPaladin - January 4, 2008 10:16 AM (GMT)
The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya and School Rumble (ok, Harima gets into fights sometimes but it's not really a big part of it) (both school comedies) are some of my favourites! Infact, those two are probably no.2 and no. 3 of my favourites.

I watch quite a few non action anime, and I love it.

Oh, I was going to say that but forgot.

I could say Fruits Basket, but it involves magic, or more like a curse.
I go for those more serious and deep anime, like Fruits Basket, Elfen Lied, and Neon Genesis Evangelion. I like Death Note too.

blazing_heartnix - January 8, 2008 05:25 AM (GMT)
Yes! another one who likes death note, awesome! I'm a little behind on anime since i don't have anime network, noone recomends me one so i can't say much here

I have to watch it on Adult Swim. I'm in the WORST place in the world for anime and games.
