Title: Red Ring of Death ='(
ClockHass - January 12, 2008 05:51 AM (GMT)
:'( My 360 experienced the Red Ring just today. It was horrible. I was getting ready to pick some grenades up and kill my brother in Gears of Wars and then the screen had little red dots everywhere, so I shut it off and turned it back on only to be me with the... RED RING OF DEATH. =( It sucks. I was so pissed off I was about ready to punch a wall because my mom told me that the warranty had expired, but then I went to Microsoft's support and learned that they increased the warranty to three years. Now I have to send it in and can't play all those games I got for Christmas though. =( Sux. Seriously. :'( :'( :'( :'( :'( :'(

That does suck, especially since by this late in a console's life they should have bugs like this already worked out... I mean it's been out for 2 years right? It just shows how sloppy microsoft is in taking care of these problems. While it is nice they extended the warrantee, if they had taken the time in the first place to check for this defect instead of rushing it out the door, I'm sure this problem would have been found, solved and thus saved many xbox owners from the red ring of death... ( heh, seems familiar, once windows had the blue screen of death, now their consoles even feature a red ring of death... times haven't changed much for microsoft. )
But fortunately you can send it in to get repaired, leats they're willing to do tha for you. Any chance you can go to a friend's house and play x-360 with them?

Now that sucks. Hopefully you'll get your 360 back soon, and be able to catch up on your gaming. I'd figured that the Ring of Death would have been fixed now...It seems like unless there's a massive outbreak of dead 360s, then they won't do much about it.

Probably no chance of going to a friends because most of them aren't 360 owners. =/ It's ok though, as long as I get it repaired and everything.
And I remember the old blue screen of death. I used to get it all the time. Microsoft makes such annoying problems, and they all seem to use colors and death to describe them.

sucks for you but that also had hapened to me about a week ago
yeah microsoft did make the warranty 3 years and about the error itself they said it costs billions to fix
i mean wtf billions?

Wouldn't surprise me considering the number of Xbox 360's there are out there and how many have had problems...
I'm not sure what exactly the red ring of doom does to the system or how badly it is damaged but if it is quite damaged then it could cost just as much to fix it as to make a whole new system... And then there is shipping fees (which they do pay to have it shipped back to you right?) and all that wonderful stuff.
ClockHass - January 15, 2008 11:35 PM (GMT)
It actually means the system doesn't work at all... It stupid and stuff and it happens from the systems heating up some wires on the hard drive. I don't know the specifics but it is one thing they need to fix, everyone experiences the ring once at least so it's that bad.

I'd watch out then. You probably won't be able to get the RROD warranty exception then if you got the gamestop one. Be careful, Microsoft is out for us.

i was reading gameinformer and if the video plug isnt in its known as the "fake" red ring of death... you can basically tell by the ring itself
