This is a story I wrote for my original character Cain to serve as an origin. Eventually it came to serve as a work that could be used in Eternal Nightmare. Without further ado, I present to you Creation: The Birth of Sin. Also, there may be certain subjects in the story that are unsuitable for younger users so if you consider yourself to be such or are under the age of 14, please leave this topic.
Disclaimer: These characters are based on the universes of Sonic the Hedgehog(Property of SEGA) and Eternal Nightmare(Property of Frost/FoxPaladin). Certain characters are the creations of Archie comics and Frost. The situation that I have made is of my own creation.
Creation: The Birth of Sin
When the planet was young there was nothingness. A bleak and cold existence that harbored no life. Through the darkness, however, two flames shone through. They touched the planet, making light and shadow. Land and water seemed to rise from the depths of the infant planet and soon an atmosphere and plants formed. The two flames took on bodies of their own. One was that of a woman. She wore long flowing, robes and had a face that was the meaning of beauty itself. Her hair was pink, an unnatural color but it seemed to aid her attraction. Her name was Aurora. The other flame took on a suave form, that of a man. Black, wavy hair dressed his head and he wore the armor of a warrior. His name was Abigor. Together the two lived in harmony as brother and sister but they had soon decided to fill the planet with life other than the plants that had kept the land so alive with color. They had decided to create the first creature.
Abigor took some clay from the earth and molded it into the form of a man. He sculpted muscles and a handsome face that was free of any facial hair. In fact, the clay man had no hair at all except for fine hairs that covered his body. Aurora gave him organs to support his life, intelligence to have him learn, and water to keep him open minded and calm. With this last gift she breathed life into the clay man and in a few short seconds he gained his mortality. The brother and sister were happy with their creation and named him Cain. Aurora and Abigor took Cain around their utopia, explaining their plans for the planet. Cain was happy and eager to help them and wasn't above showing so. Abigor created the beasts of the land, both strong and weak. He allowed Cain to name each one. Aurora filled the oceans with aquatic lifeforms, also allowing Cain to name them. Slowly and surely, the land had become plentiful and peaceful.
Peace tends to have a habit of dying down, and it was the case when Abigor felt that Cain liked Aurora more than he. The male deity had a very strong sense of pride but he wanted to spend more time with Cain, seeing how he partially created him. The fact that he couldn't be with Cain more made Abigor jealous. His jealousy grew day after day, becoming worse and more deep seated. He watched Aurora one day as she toiled to create a miracle of sorts. When she had perfected it, she had called over Cain and Abigor to show them her work. She explained that the beasts they had created were not immortal and would eventually cease to exist. However, she had developed a way to have the beasts connect with one another on a deeply emotional level. She called this emotion love and through love she revealed that the beasts could reproduce, thus saving their species from extinction. Cain was amazed at this idea and praised Aurora. Abigor was intrigued, although disgusted at Cain's sign of affection towards his sister. In order to spite the two, Abigor started to cease his actions of creating new wonders. His mind, filled with pride, envy, and sloth had instead formed a plan that he hoped would bring Aurora's influence over Cain to an end.
One day, when Cain was alone and watching over the beasts of land and sea, Abigor came to him. “Cain my child” the deity spoke, “have you seen the wonderful thing Aurora has devised? She is clever to make a way for the animals to multiply.” Cain agreed with Abigor and spoke of Aurora's praises, only to be interrupted. The male deity then spoke in a strange tongue to Cain, filling his mind with images of gold, delicious foods, and most of all his beloved Aurora. She was as beautiful was always but now she had removed her robes, her body revealing a side of Cain he never knew existed. Abigor ended the images and his spell had been woven onto Cain. The mortal wanted wealth, a satisfied feeling for his new found hunger, and the sweet release of his heart's desire. Abigor then sent
Cain away to Aurora with his feelings of greed, gluttony, and lust.
Aurora was resting by the water's edge, a spot she loved to stay by. Her thoughts drifted, much like the water beside her. It was then she felt a presence amongst her. She sat up to see Cain and she smiled at him. Her hand reaching out to him, she was happy to see her favorite creation. Cain, however, had thoughts of a darker intent than what Aurora was expecting. The mortal threw himself onto her, his lust taking over. Aurora had never expected Cain to act in this manner and was horrified at his behavior. She gained an almighty strength and flung the mortal off of her, using tiny surges of electricity to control him. Aurora, on the verge of tears, asked him “Cain my precious son, what has gone through your mind to act out in such a lascivious manner?” And Cain responded “Abigor told me of wealth and pleasures that a person truly needs. Love cannot support a being alone!” These words angered Aurora and through her anger she tried to reason with Cain. But it was too late for Cain had become corrupt and full of carnal desires. Aurora summoned her brother to where she stood and struck him down into the pits of the planet. The fires consumed what little good he had left and Abigor became the lord of all that is wrong, impure, and unholy.
Aurora then tuned to Cain, her eyes flooded with tears. She asked the mortal if he'd rather stay with her or suffer the fate that had befallen Abigor. Cain then expressed his desire to stay with Aurora, to make her happy and for her to make him happy in return with the methods he had just learned of. He had given the wrong answer and Aurora couldn't stand to have this corrupt being destroy what she made so pure. With a heavy heart, she set Cain ablaze, the fire creating a long, dark hole that he was dragged down. Cain become disfigured as two horns grew from the top of his head and hung down over his eyes, which had now become blood red with the whites turned black. His skin festered and sculpted into unnatural muscle and a long, pronged tail grew. On his chest was a mark, a red spiral, to show his twisted nature. When he landed in the pits of the eternally damned, Cain looked towards the sky and cursed Aurora. He screamed threats and hateful things, the birth of wrath. Abigor looked toward his son, now to be with him for eternity. Cain then pledged his loyalty to Abigor, vowing to destroy all that go against true emotion and desire. From this pledge, the seven sins that were formed took on physical shapes and they too bowed to the Lord of Darkness. Seven deadly sins to rage upon the people that Aurora were to create. Seven deadly sins to fill the world with sorrow. Seven deadly sins to bring forth an eternal nightmare.
No one is going to comment?
Well I will.
Truely a great way to explain the origins of the world. ( Reminiscent of the Anceint greek's tale of Prometheus sculpting beast, then at last, man. And Athena breathing life into man. And combining that with the more recent religion's 7 deadly sins. )
Though it does leave the question... what of Aurora? What is she doing now?
Aurora is watching over Mobius and leading souls to the Afterlife as she did for Knuckles in the Archie comics.
