Title: Don LaFontaine Dies At 68
Description: In world where legends die...

A.J. The Echidna - September 7, 2008 04:20 AM (GMT)
Voice-over legend Don LaFontaine, famous for his deep, gravelly voice and for making the phrase "In a world..." a famous movie trailer line died on September 1st, 2008. Reports say that he died of a collapsed lung, a fate that befell another star this year, Rand B legend Issac Hayes. The loss of one of the world greatest voice-over actors has affected me the greatest out of any of this year's untimely deaths, yet I find solace that Don is up there somewhere with Mel Blanc looking down on the VA's of the future.
