Title: Why?

Ok, this isn't a rant, more of a question and answer.

Why the hell do people like the Twilight series?

I'm curious, I admit, I haven't read them from start to finish, I read a tiny bit, I felt a loss of intelligence, I saw the movie with a friend at their request, I felt like a moron.

I know some girls read it cause they can't get a boyfriend, but honestly, who in their right mind would want a mutant fairy for a boyfriend? He's emotionally abusive, controlling and bipolar and just a all around dick to Bella, who is a Mary Sue.

I read enough of the book to notice how very badly written it is and how very basic it is too and how very unrealistic it is, not cause Mutant Fairy's a mutant fairy, but because no one ever falls in love that easily in three weeks or so, nor do they ever think that they can't live without someone.

Hell in New Moon the Mary Sue's suicidal (I read the synopsis for the books on Wikipedia).

Another thing I don't like about this series, the fangirls, if any of you ever read my dA journal if you go on Deviantart, you'll find a funny story.

So seriously, why the hell do people like this series?

Maybe because they're intrigued by the story? Not all books are meant to be realistic. I've never even touched these books, but girls are obsessive with the series.

Meh fantasy books are pretty good sometimes but fantasy romance...

Anyways it's a girl thing I think...
Also the girls (over here in England atleast) tend to find whoever that guy is who acts in the movie pretty hot

I haven't a clue what it's about or why people like it that's just what I've heard

I've seen guys reading this series though.

I can understand girls being so insecure they have to read crap cause they haven't discovered they don't need to obsess over boys to be happy in some cases, but couldn't they choose a series that doesn't have a emotionally abusive, bipolar and suicidal mutant fairy?

I wasn't saying guys don't read the series but not as many do and they're not obsessive with it.

Your observation is way to bias though. I have plenty of friends who are girls that are nothing like how you describe. They love the series but I can guarantee you that they're not insecure, and the obsession of men is like the obsession of women to men. It's just how society works.

Lol Mary-Sue...Encyclopedia Dramatica much?

Anyways, be that as it may, the book pertains to teenage girls fantasies. Think about it. Why do people on D.A fantasize over something so small, and blow it out of proportion? Let say.....if...tikal gave knuckles a high-five. There would be billions of Tikal x Knuckles Fan stories.

People cling to things when they cant face the reality of a situation. Think of all the sasuke fanfictions. Twilight sounds like it is a fanfiction. The theme of vampires has always been a bit sexual. So make it teen version and bam.

Well, I don't read it, so I can only speak for myself. IMO, I don't see what's so good about it either. I guess everyone has different tastes. I'm more of a book writer, anyway...
