Title: Watchmen
A.J. The Echidna - March 8, 2009 02:45 AM (GMT)
Normally I'd place a topic like this under General Discussion but the importance this film has to me is worthy of it being considered art. I first read the comic "Watchmen" about a year or two ago. My life was changed when I read it, becoming fascinated with the interwoven story-lines and the complex characters who interacted with one another. The art was also something that enamored me, a simple style that reminded me of the original Spider-Man comics drawn by Steve Ditko, albeit with a gritty style. When I learned of Zack Snyder's film version, I was stoked but I was also wary of whether or not the movie would be a disaster.
The days, weeks and months eventually flew by and I was treated to trailers, pictures, and production videos. My concerns were laid to rest during those moments. All I needed to do was wait for the film. During that time I was able to get six people to read the Watchmen. All six loved it, three of them actually going out to buy their own copies. After months of waiting, March 6th finally came. It was last night at 11:20 that I and my "Cretin Crew", comprised of my friends Joey, Ray, and Joe, headed out to see Watchmen.
Despite our horrible seats, we were treated to 2 hours and 43 minutes of the most highly anticipated comic book movies of all time. Needless to say a wave of emotions washed over me, and halfway during the film's opening montage, it's soundtrack being the song "The Times They Are a-Changin'" by Bob Dylan, I began to cry. I was thrilled with the cast's depiction of the various characters and even though some scenes from the comic were changed, they worked amazingly well. If you love comic books, history, or are just looking for an alternative to literature-based movies, I strongly urge you to see Watchmen. I mean, it has to be good if it made ME cry.

I read the comic... but I wasn't all that drawn into it.
So for me, the movie version might just be a mediocre film at best. (That is if I actually ever sit down to watch it.)

i saw the movie, really awesome movie 5 stars in my book! but i didn't see the comic or the so called cartoon it had; anywho i gotta do a work for my sound and effects class and they had a small vid of watchmen videogame. I have to watch the whole thing a few 100 times to be able to know where certain sounds go like jogging (the characters jog not walk) jumping, punch, kicking u get the idea.

Roshack: why do ppl always have to learn the hard way!
Nightowl: was that necesary?
Roshack: someone has to teach 'em not to mess with the law
Thug2: Where are they?, come here Pirulo ay ay ay.
Roshack: How original
Nightowl: Roshack will u let me hit someone today?!
Nightowl: For Justice!!
(some things heard by the thugs are random and doesn't get translated)
out of nowwhere when Roshack slides someone yells "BALLS"
after thugs come out in the cutscene one of the thugs says "you want Pirulo?, you want Pirulo? AHH!!"
i did the first thug's voice, Felix"nero"did some of the voices like the balls yell and Pirulo, "Mito" did some of the thugs toma, coje, Lemuel"Nero2" did the voice of Nightowl,Lee did the voice of Roshack. Again i apologize that it's in spanish, turn up the volume but beware, some scenes have a big yell and stuff so prepare for it
