Title: How do you entertain yourself for 10 weeks?
Description: Seriously

I finished my exams and i had a 10 week break until Sixth Form (actually this is like 2 and a half week... i think... kinda lost track of time tbh)

And i've recently found out that entertaining yourself for 10 weeks is difficult ...

Computer games get boring quickly...
My dad ALWAYS beats me at scrabble (working on that one)
Used to be working for my mum but don't need to anymore... Therefore I had but don't HAVE a job... so that's a possibility

I haven't got many hobby's, and almost all my mates are working/busy/on holiday all the time so that doesn't help.

So i'm pretty much sitting at home, wasting away each day, playing scrabble with my dad (which is probably one of the highlights of each day), cooking food and sorting out the house, and occasionally going out biking or jogging to exercise.

And it works i guess...

It's difficult to "mix things up" when you can't drive and live in the middle of nowhere

You may say "Alright for some" but i tell you... being bored 24/7 can quickly drive you insane

So how would you entertain yourselves? (You might say "Ah i'd play computer all day everyday" but i tried that for 2 days and it ain't that great)

EDIT: Btw put this in general discussion BECAUSE I did it more as question that you'd ask youself rather than a question i'm asking you ;)

I'm pretty happy how it's going personally, it just struck me as an interesting thing that happens.

It's ironic how everyone wants to live "The life of luxury" lazing about all day everyday... and you get there and you just want something to do!

I jot out a new song idea or something. Maybe go bang the drums, run a little bit, do some exercise, hang with some friends. When all else fails, I sleep. I love to dream and that's the only place where everything really changes, in those dreams.

Aside from that, I don't know. I'm just a bit of a bum I suppose. ^_^

Try writing something? Maybe start a book or short story?
Maybe practice the art skills?
On your next trip to town, visit a library and pick up some books to read?
Maybe find some movies that you would enjoy?
Maybe pick up an exercise regime? (It wouldn't take alot of stuff to do... A couple jugs full of water serve as small weights for training. Start jogging or maybe some biking?)

And mix it up with the games, scrabble and whatnot.

Yeah i'm gonna read the Bourne Supremacy... First one was good >.>

Last night i went round my friends and we played Guitar hero pretty much non stop and that was reasonably fun, although i think i nackered usage of my left wrist from it

You can also try to apply to some jobs. In this time of the year one thing that never runs out is summer jobs. Little stuff that could help you gather some bucks. From personal experience, i think it's the best way for you to pass the time and not get bored...well, that's not entirely true since there are some jobs that tend to be pretty boring after a while. Another solution is, like everyone said already, to hangout with your friends or go do some exercise at a gym. Playing games only fill those empty spaces that you have in your life for a while...unless you're playing an RPG...but even so, enough is enough, so i guess that in the end it's only up to you to decide what to do in 10 weeks to avoid boredom :B):

a job certainly does help kill some time......it helps to have many different skills/ talents that you can put to good use. Computer is a lot of fun...but i definitely get where you're coming from with the "it gets old" argument....believe it or not...I've accumulated over 600 hours of playing cod4 multi-player pc. It halps to play a bunch of different games you enjoy, cod4, battlefield heroes, l4d, UT3....Console gaming is fun too...lately I've been catching up on a few retro games i never finished....specifically finishing One Piece grand adventure all the way through. Knowing how to use adobe software is a really good thing...when I'm bored and have a really good idea....I make an AMV just for the hell of it....which later goes on my youtube page....lately...I've been recording game footage from my wii and uploading to my new youtube account "TGTheTrueGamer" beyond that....knowing how to play an instrument can help kill some time....I'm a drummer...what helped kill time was obnoxious practice sessions for a gig I played in a few days ago.......other than that.....G4 TV ALL THE WAY....."my dns center connects with every boy and girl.......you might as well face it man....It's a nerds world" but don't just watch G4....be part of it...If you have a webcam...come to the g4 stickam chat at www.stickam.com/g4interactive and talk to me "cdrom1019" as well as a plethora of other g4 fans.... and...that's what I do....be sure to watch G4's attack of the show to see the new segment they will be doing....they asked some of their viewers "yes...I was one of them" to take a flip cam and go around town shooting stuff I do for fun.....It should be airing soon....but that's all I got for now...if I think of anything...I'll post some more....good luck
