These are simple rules in order to maintain order in the forum. These in no way will limit the enjoyment you have here or take away conversations from you. These are rules meant to make sure everyone is respected equally and all problems dealt with justly. We are very fair judges and don't usually like to punish users, but... order must be maintained.
Effective immediately, the following Rules go into effect:
1. You must be at least 13 years old to be a member here.
It is
required by
law, and the
Invision TOS, that all members be at least
13 years of age or older to be a member of THIS or any forum. I'm sorry, but if we love this forum this much, we need it to be compliant with the TOS agreement and the
COPPA Act of 1998. Mind you, we are very well-aware of the fact that some of you can lie your age and register to the forum, however, if you choose to do so, we cannot be held liable, as the consequences would befall you and not us.
2. Respect ALL Staff & Members.
Disrespecting ANY Member of the staff will get you BANNED without warning.
2a.
Admin decision is final. Do not, by any means, create a thread, or pm the staff asking why a member was punished. Doing so will only piss us off and get you into trouble. Whenever we punish someone, there is
always a reason behind it. In other words, we don't punish someone just for the hell of it. (amended 2/3/06)
3. Effective Immediately, any member with a duplicate account WILL recieve a warning. If you can't remember your username and/or your password, then you can post as a guest in
this topic (<=click) with your registered email address.. and we will gladly reset and email the new password to you. In the past, we have had members who try to escape their warning levels by creating duplicate accounts, instead of waiting until their level was reduced to 0. As a result, these members ended up with a higher warning level than they had originally or they were banned from this forum. (amended 10/8/05)
4. No Bumping! Period.
In other words, Effective immediately, No double posting will be permitted.
5. No Spamming or replying to spam.
If we see it the spammer will be banned, and anyone who replied to it will receive a WARNING.
6. No advertising PERIOD!! Please read
this topic (<= click.) for details. (amended 1/12/06)
7. No Flaming. If someone is flaming you, do NOT respond. Instead, pm a member of the staff, (preferably) with a screenshot of that post, and we'll handle it.
7a. No inciting others to flame... that is post something to encourage others to become hostile. This is related to rule 13a (continuing to pressure others opinions.) Or generally antagonizing others because you think you can. (AKA Trolling.)
8. Do not make a remarks about somebody's spelling and/or grammar. The very next person to criticize another member about spelling, or grammer
WILL receive a warning. (it is not as if people mispell words on purpose.. so get a grip.) This is a surefire way to start a flamewar and this will
NOT occur on my watch got it? good. (amended 9/23/05)
9. DO NOT make any hateful remarks regarding one's gender, sexual orientation, ethnicity, or nationality. This includes the use of the word "
gay" outside of its context and intended
definitions. (<= click.) (amended 5/24/06)
Doing so will get you BANNED WITHOUT WARNING.
9a.
While saying gay out of context won't get you banned immediately, it will get you a [verbal] warning on first offense, second offense will result in a warning, anything after that will result in a Mod queue, or suspension if necessary.
However, spewing outright hatred, discrimination or intolerance towards any other group, will result in an immediate ban.10. Do not submit links to porn, warez, or malicious software, cracks, hacking utilities, roms and/or other illegal material!!
If we see it YOU WILL BE BANNED WITHOUT WARNING!! end of story
11. No Stealing.
Stealing is a ban-able offense. if you or some-one on the forum, steals an image, or other copyrighted material, and/or hotlinks it to here or even steals one of OUR images, we WILL take action. If a member of this forum steals a copy-righted image, or hotlinks it to here, and the owner finds out about it, we are the ones held responsible.. correction, bdx would be held responsible. we WILL NOT let this happen.
11a. If you suspect that a member has stolen an image, or other copyrighted material. You may send a pm to one of the staff saying as such.
Your message should include, the members name, a screenshot of the post, the link to the post in question, and the link to where you have seen it, and we will take it from there. Note: Making false reports will get you into serious trouble.
12. Before you post a question, read thru the
Frequently Asked Questions (<= click.) to see if it has been asked and answered already. Otherwise, we'd have like a million posts from different people about the same thing. (amended 6/13/06)
13. Everyone is entitled to their opinion.
So if you dont like what is said, just say so (and leave it at that), but, personal attacks will
NOT be tolerated.
13a. You are entitled to your opinion, however if you try and force your opinion on others... especially after they have asked you to cease, you will be warned for it. And should you persist it will result in further punishment (possibly a full out ban.)
14. Anyone asking to be a member of the staff, either openly, or via pm, WILL receive a warning.
We are currently fully-staffed, and if we feel that you have what it takes, then we will contact YOU.
15. Absolutely NO cloaked/hidden or shortened URLs. There is no legitimate reason to have to hide a url, thusly any cloaked or shortened url will be removed. If you see a cloaked or shortened URL anywhere on the forum, please DO NOT click it, Instead alert Staff to it.
16. Follow these rules, enjoy your stay, and have as much fun as possible.
All rules posted here are STRICTLY enforced. and so all you have to do is follow them and you'll be fine.
