Xenogears is the BEGINING to Xenosags and such. Possibly the best RPG next to FF7. Matter of fact i think it beat out FF7 in the top 100 list at gamefaqs or something. Truely a great game i reccomend Final Fantasy Fans get. If your looking fo ra nice long game that will keep you guessing this is the game to do so! Anyone heard of it?

I played Xenogears about 5 or 6 years ago. And LOVED it. Xenogears was actually the very first RPG that I truly completed from start to finish. What grabbed me the most about this game was how it's story got SO involved and plot was very well done; some of the best story direction I've seen period. I mean, everything flowed so well; I ended up playing 5 times more, and I still love it to this day.
It is an extremely great RPG and worth ownership. Anyone who wants a great gaming experience and an excellent story should BUY this game. Really, it's worth it.

YES SOMEONE PLAYED IT!! Xenosaga is a sequal to Xenogears, Xenogears STILL beats out xenosaga considering xenosagas an interactive movie. But Xenogears is great, And like Ganj said, is still played. Even Black_Angel has played it and she enjoys it, especially, kakei deathblow, or " Really Kick ass Thunder Kick" for you sis

hmm i was thinking of buying xenosaga but if xenogears is better. i'll try and find it first.

Actually, Xenosagas Episodes 1 to 3 are prequels to Xenogears (which is Episode 4, technically). There are whispers however that MonolithSoft will make an official sequel to Xenogears in the form of Episodes 5 & 6.
But about Xenogears. Yes, despite the crummy voice actors, Xenogears is incrediblely better and more enjoyable than Xenosaga (one big reason is because they use far fewer cutscenes than Xenosagas). So anyone who wants a excellent RPG experience SHOULD buy this game; Believe me, you WILL NOT be disappointed.

I remember playing and beating this one. Can't say I was inspired to replay it though, this one area of the game, really, really bugged me. Detention Center or something like that? But I'll probably buy it again.
