No offense taken.

I know I need an upgrade, I've had this comp for 5 years.. When I got it, I was told that all it could handle was win98 SE..
The fact that I could install, and run xpsp2 with no problems was in and of itself a miracle..
Mr. Nest wants to get me a new comp for christmas..
I am not happy with my specs right now, as I can't do anything in c4d. It took Mr. Nest a week to render, and it messed up because of how slow my comp was.. but, at least I can still do stuff in cs2.. and I can still do things like browsing, or schoolwork on it..
I would certainly not use ME..
1. MS has stopped support for it so basically anyone using it would be vulnerable to security lapses that will never be fixed.
2. All it is is 98 with a facelift.
3. I fully intend to stick with XP, until MS pulls support for that too.. after which I'll probably switch to Knoppix.. that is, if it is as easy to install to a hard drive as windows.
4. I am at max capacity for my motherboard.. I have to get a new computer, because even if I did get a new motherboard, I would still have to get a new case, because the motherboard would not be compatible with the DELL case I am using now..
5. I have no interest in Vista outside of improvements on the gui, and how to do that same effect in my own graphics. I have heard a lot of things about vista, most of them bad, however, I am in no hurry to get it.
6. I said in other topic, that I was using a dual boot between winxp and win2k pro.. I have never had 98, or ME installed on my computer.. and as I recall, win95, 98, and ME were in the same boat so to speak, as they could not read ntfs file systems. They could only read and write FAT and FAT32 partitions, and they could not read files larger than 4gb.
NTFS file systems, on the other hand, could read a max of 2 or 3TB.. and were introduced Win NT4.. which is why you always see them paired together on software websites or packages.. i.e. Win95/98/ ME or WinNT/2K/XP. This would show that 2K is not the same as ME, or 98.
7. Your name could say what ever you want it to say, however I'd never be foolish enough to make a snap judgement about someone based on their username.
But hey, thanks for the tip.. I'll look into the processors, money isn't really an issue.
