What program do you use?

I use CS2 when I make my stuff.. it has a lot more features than paint, and the image quality is a LOT better..

What program do you use? Why?

Can we get this program for free or do you have to pay money?

CS2 is part od photoshop right? (which is rather expensive...)

But myself I use fireworks, mainly because of how it's integrated into flash and the 2 can easily work together. Fireworks has all the necessities for sprite editing (pencil, zoom, layers, magic selection tool, lasso tool with alt and shift modifiers. all very useful.)

and this way as soon as i'm done in fireworks I can import/copy and paste right into flash.

For Avatar and Signature making I use GIMP for my effects,then in Paint I add whatever is in the avatar or sig,then add the text in Paint.

I use Paint.net. Wonderful effects and such. Used to use GIMP but it was spacious.

There is a 30-day free trial, but after that, only imageready will work.

VZ, CS2 = Photoshop 9 though I heard that CS3 has a beta release..

I use mostly gimp to do everything...but i sometimes handle with photoshop, altough i always end up ahving my brain destroyed after using it...

See.. I could never get the hang of gimp.. I mean, the ui is ok, but the controls were hard to use.. I dunno, maybe it's because I am used to photoshop..

I might give it another shot one of these days..

For me it goes the other way around...i can manage myself around with gimp, while with photoshop i tend to have a hard time to get anhthing done...

I'm still using Paint Shop Pro but this is because I learned to use it when I was 13, and have only practiced with it. I've lost all patience with artwork now though, so I hardly ever use PSP for what it can actually do.

Adobe Photoshop CS2 atm cause I'm lazy about getting CS3, I use that at school.

I should look some of these programs up, I really only use one.. I tried one called Art Rage.. but all it does is like oil paints and whatnot.. im not so good with those.
