If you knew you were going to get banned, would you try to talk your way out of it? Why or why not?

No. There is no point. Why try to talk your way out of it. You just might make things worse.

I agree.. I've been banned before, but I didn't try to talk my way out of anything.. I didn't think twice about it. But typically, we'll warn you before we ban you, and give you ample opportunity to change your behavior.. but it you don't change, then you are out of here.

I will go with talk my way out of it, since it is human nature to try to avoid unwanted situations, in all aspects of life.
If there is a chance I can avoid something unpleasant by reasoning I would give it a try, wouldn't you?

I see what you are saying, but what is the point in trying to talk your way out of it, if you were given chances to change your behavior?

If you didn't want to be banned, then you should have changed your behavior, on the first warning.. instead of waiting until you've been told of the pending ban.

No because if i was going to be banned it would be because i probaby had done something that i shouldn't have and so there's no point in figthing arguments that are already proved....

for me, it depends on why i was being banned. If it was because of an event that wasnt my fault or that someone gave them false information about me then yes, I'll try to talk my way out of it. But if I had done something I knew I would be banned for then no, it's a waste of time.

The only problem with that it is that you have to know what you did wrong, and alot of times, the one who is getting banned will always try to say stuff like "I didn't know it was wrong" or "it was my brother, not me."
This doesn't mean that everyone is like this but many are. For example our 5 account "wonder" he made loads of excuses and tried to dupe us multiple times.

As far as if I was going to be banned, well depending upon wha it was I was getting banned for... like if I was getting banned for saying something that they didn't like. (Such as an opinion in a debate or proving someone wrong with the facts and end up being banned... ) Then I might welcome a ban. (Odd as it seems, I might, because it means that the admin has to resort to juvenile means to win an argument, thus proving they are an incapable admin.) but if I was banned for something I knowingly did, then I couldn't argue it, because I know I did it.

However if I was getting banned for something that is completely stupid, then yeah I'd argue it. (Such as getting accused of stealing my own work. Like if someone saw my work on one forum, then was on another and saw it then reported it as stolen, I might be a bit mad... )

good question but what if the one posting is not the person who registered ? there are people who can hack the user and gain their pass to ruin that user and get banned but sometimes you will not notice and yeah about giving a chance to someone is a good idea but if its a spammer i hope that you ban and ip ban that user or delete it

Well depnding on how much the person was on the board we may or may not notice it... like if they aren't on alot then we may not be able to detect a change immediately (unless they start breaking loads of rules.) And in this instance we have no choice but to warn them first, then if they ignore it, they get banned.
But we can tell much faster if we know the person, because we'd see the change and then we could do something about it.

We understand how that could happen, however it is also why we encourage the members to protect their accounts, and computers. We not only say that to those in positions of power here at this forum, but we say it to everyone, because we don't want any trouble, and we'd hate to lose a good member too.

That is why we posted a topic about securing your computer, and making sure that your password is very hard to guess.

If I did wrong I'd take it like a man and just move on with my life if I got banned, I did wrong and I'd have to atone for it.
