Ha ha ha...I thought it said rape...Wait? WHAT?! Seriously, in many ways it shouldn't but in some circumstances it should be. Some teenagers should be aware of what rape is, and what could happen if you do it. That would actually be the only thing I would allow to be taught in sex ed about rape.
Some people's minds are at the age where they can't tell the difference. So being told the difference between rape and just normal sex, could actually help keep sex predators in the low numbers if that were taught.

The sole purpose of school is to teach you and prepare you for anything that can and will happen in the real world. If rape is a definite possibility in the real world, then why shouldn't they be taught how to defend themselves?

Ah...I misread your question. Then it's definite yes. Everyone should know how to protect themselves from rape, and what the borderline is between rape and sex. If the school doesn't teach them, then who will?

If a big macho guy came up to you and your a scrawny bag of bones, how are you going to stop them? That's the one question I would ask and then ask Am I allowed to hurt them to get away from them?
I reckon it's probably a good idea to, the best way is to get someone who has been raped to describe it because they regretfully have a first hand experience.

Yes and no, I feel that it should be taught, but not only is sex ed seeing as it's not a mandantory class, well here it's not. I think it should be one of those things that are announced to the school class by class in the audotorium but most people don't pay attention to those things anyway so it'd be, for the most part, inefective. So because of that I think it should be taught in other classes as well, the school board could decide which ones.

well it could also be included in gym class as an elective.
I mean, what person doesn't want to learn how to defend themselves?

The overconfident idiots who say "I'll never get raped because I'm hot!" of course.

That's true, but like with anything else in life, their own arrogance/stupidity/naivety will be their own downfall.

I think that all kinds of defense should be taught in schools but not by the same jerky gym teachers that people hate. Self defense should be taught by someone whose job is pretty much to teach just that and they should know techniques and such that are effective, not flashy, and are guaranteed to work.

I agree - Self Defence should be taught by an expert. Like my step-father, for instance.
