Childerns shows., Are we REALLY sending thr right message?

I was talking to Zinarei today and we got to talking about old television shows, and I realized just how great the childerns shows of that time were. I miss that time, where a political corrector wasent up your ass sideways if you used anything they deemed "offensive".

People now-a-days are letting there childern watch these new shows with extreme politically corrected text. But are we really sending the right message?

Just here me out, Ima quote my conversation with Javier:

I completely agree, but I'm such a frickin' hypocryte. I find myself crackin' jokes based on stereotypes, and yet I tell myself the only race there is is human. I don't know if it's that society has had a big effect on my brain thus warping it to be the NC-17 politically incorrect Carlos Mencia type mind it is now or if it's just that I don't agree with myself. Anywho, back on topic, have you noticed the increased number of kids shows that teach espanol? Seriously, it's obviously due to the amount of illigal aliens. Why can't they just go back to the violent cartoons meant for adults and children to enjoy?

I think that shows need to teach today's youth about accepting and not discriminating against others because of their differences. You never really see overweight kids (the ones you do see are usually bullies, just like the black kids are good athletes, and the ones who wear glasses are geniuses,) or gays on these shows either.

Take Sailor Moon, in the Japanese version, the REAL version, Sailor Uranus, and Sailor Neptune are lesbians. In the U.S. version, they are cousins. I think that if kids today are taught that there are a many more types of people (in a logical, and non discriminatory, or biased manner) than what is shown on TV, then there will be a lot less intolerance.

They won't point at or make fun of someone who is overweight, gay, or homeless because they will already know about it, and they probably won't pass judgement, and learn to empathize with others. I am not saying that they have to go into detail, but they should definitely make it known that there are different people in the world, with different circumstances despite what is shown on tv.

Dave Chappelle said it best in his skit about how Sesame Street teaches kids to judge people. They may say that Oscar is a grouch now, and laugh, but later on they will grow up to step over, and mistreat homeless people.

Politically incorrect? or truth in a nationwide embarrassment?

We are one of the richest nations in the world, and yet we have a VAST amount of homeless people coast to coast. More than 200,000 of those homeless people being military veterans.. We have charities geared towards helping those overseas, which, I commend their efforts for, however, what about the people of our own nation that need help as well? What does it say about us as a country so concerned about the international affairs of other countries, that we neglect our own people.. some of which being the same people who faught hard for our country and survived? How can you take care of others if you can't even take care of your own?

As I said before, if a child has unhealthy eating habits, it is because the parents didnt do enough to instill healthy habits from the get-go.

The parent's are looking to place blame on anything, and everything for their own fuck ups in raising their kids.. it was J.K. Rowlings fault for making kids think that they are wizards like Harry Potter, it was Mr. Roger's fault for telling the kids that they are special and can do anything that they put their minds to, it is the school's fault that kids are overweight, it is the media's fault that kids idolize the 'hip hop' lifestyle etc.. nevermind the fact that these kids are the ones being raised by their parents, and not by the things that they place the blame on.. so with all of these things that the parents claim that they aren't responsible for, it really begs the question, what are they responsible for?

I concur, they always blame the violence in the media for childrens behavior now-a-days, but I've yet to seen a single person jump on a turtle because they played Mario, maybe I don't get out enough but even if they tried, it would have never come to that had the parrents sat down with their child [or parrent in somecases, on that same note children as well] and explain to them that the game isn't real. The same goes for everything else. Apparently propaganda films aren't working so parrents need to parrent, is it really so hard? and if it is then why'd they get themselves into somethin' that they knew they couldn't handle in the first place? and if they thaught they could handle it then they need to get off their asses and try harder or give the child up for adoption. I'm not saying give up on your children, but if you can't provide a propper upbringing then allow someone else to do it, there are plenty of people who would love to do so. I realize that I've gone slightly off topic and I apologize for that, but it just pisses me off when peeople don't do their jobs.

what really pisses me off , is when you have a bratty kid running around and kicking random people in the store, and when you say something the parent gets mad at you for saying something to the kid who should be old enough to know better.. I hate it when parents let their bratty kids run amok laughing, and thinking that it is cute, expecting you to think the same.

I would not hesitate to punch out a parent like this for something their kid did, or at least have a kid that happens to be with me retaliate against the parent. I get angy, but not at the kid, but at the parent because the parent should have taught them better. My brother and I knew to behave ourselves when we were in public when we were that age, so there is absolutely no excuse for them not to.

I've had my fair share of whuppings as a child, however many children don't even get a stern talking to, whatever the hell that is. 'Spare the rod, spoil the child.'
