HOLY CRAP! eek2.gif

that ain't gonna be cheap. That would be the ultimate gaming proccessor. To hell with duo cores when it comes to 300 ghz. I'm just worried about the atom in the cpu that they're using to replace the transistor. Do any of you know what happens when you split an atom?

It depends what radiations you are using. However I think that if they create it in 2009 it'll be used in personal computers like in 2010 or early 2011. Installing such technology in graphic cards and cpus will give an enormous boost in computer's calculation power.

As for my understanding of atomic principles... if you split an atom typically it either goes off and joins with another atom to form a stable compound or it becomes a free floating loose atom which can then be used to recombine with another atom in the event you split another set of atoms up...

This would be how they make 1s and 0's...
Split would be zeros and able to be used, and then possibly it could be joined into numberous configurations from 2 atoms and up. (Which could represent 1s or larger if they decided to expand and make it more than just a binary system...)

If you want one of these get your hands on a badass cooling system like liquid nitrogen

Dude, it will be an optic CPU. It'll not generate any heat like electrical ones.
