You have to get an anti spyware program such as Spybot, and then run a scan and then let the program delete whatever it finds. You can choose a mirror here.. http://www.safer-networking.org/en/mirrors/index.htmlDownload it, and the install it, and update the signatures (click on search for updates,) and once you have updated it, run a THROUGH system scan. At the end of the scan click "Fix Selected Problems" to remove the spyware, and then click "Immunize" to further protect your browsers against threats.

sry im asking Ekrezem
however ba im very surprised to hear you use zone alarm. Zone alarm is one of my biggest pet peeves. Why? It won't leave you alone. If you wanted to tell the computer to blow it's nose it ask for permission even though u clearly told it to blow it's nose. (yea i know its a stupid analogy) BA are you connected through a router? cuz if you are you don't need zone alarm let alone a software firewall.
Im just sayin but if it does it for ya i won't argue

Yes I do use it and the notification settings can be turned off. A lot of people say they don't like it because it blocks everything but that isn't true either. You have to know how to configure each program for access, and you can even change whether you want the firewall to do it, or if you want to do it yourself.
And yes, I am using a router.

Well, not trying to compare, but I use the Norton Anti-Virus program for my computer. It works, but I just don't feel as safe with it as I used to. My last computer crashed and refused to be resurrected(no matter how many times I tried to restore it and when I say restore, I mean completely erase it). Oh and it had Norton as well. Then again, I did get this computer back last month, so I'll just wait to see how long this one lasts with Norton.

Yeah good luck with that, I think I posted a rant around here somewhere about how norton disabled my [non-symantec] firewall causing me to get severely infected and having to format. I think I even asked either VZ or BDX to demote me to a regular member here, and gave BDX my admin account info and told him to change in on my forum.. just in case.. *edit* found it.. http://z6.invisionfree.com/super_smash_all...?showtopic=1208

I have decided to switch to AVG Free. Why? Because my computer was almost on the brink of crashing last night.

There is also the exztortion issue too.. If you don't update your subscription, they will contact your isp and tll them what you've been up to online.
This happened to my uncle.

Using internet without adequate protection is just asking for trouble. (Adequate protection entails an antivirus, antispyware and a firewall.) Use free products if absolutely nothing else. (Heck, some of the free programs I recommend over the paid ones. Free is always better than Norton <anything> in particular.)
Other tips: - Update protection software regularly - Perform weekly scans, - Avoid suspicious websites, - Don't click links from unknown persons in IM programs, - Don't click linsk from known people if they won't tell you what it is, or if they won't respond/ don't know what they sent you.
All of this stuff I'm sure I've talked more in depth about somewhere... (Pretty sure it was on BA's forum... Time to go get it and post it here.)
